A Late Eighteenth Century What-not Attributed to Gillow
The four tiers which taper towards the top are supported on slender columns with serpentine shaped aprons below each shelf. The mahogany is a golden colour and the castors are original.

English, Circa 1790

Drawing No. 95/579 in the Gillow archive illustrates an example dated 22.3.1790 which was made by John Savage for the showroom. Apart from our one being on castors it is identical in form to the one by Savage. It is of course, possible that they are one and the same.
