A Willem IV of Orange Walnut Lowboy
The rectangular top with serpentine shaped front, burr walnut veneer, herring-bone and cross-banding, sits above one long drawer and two short drawers flanking a scrolled apron. The table standing on four very well shaped cabriole legs terminating in claw and ball feet.
The table, which is a wonderful colour and patination, retains its original handles and also benefits from the attention given to the sides. These are veneered in well figured walnut and have a shaped apron.
Netherlands, Circa 1720
The table retains a paper label with the following inscription.
"This genuine old table was bought by me at the Hague sept 1912. JS."
